2016 Blues.

The blog experts says that you should write your blog to give some kind of value to your readers,  and to write it in a way that most of your readers can relate.

Well, this is not one of those posts.

January is the month that either you are totally pumped and ready to kick off the new year or you’re at the bottom climbing up a very steep hill.


       It’s 3:11AM and I can’t sleep.  My body aches.  My neck hurts.  I think I’m getting a head cold so I’m wearing the cowl/hood that my cousin made (Thaks Lisa), AND to top it all off I don’t know what the heck is going on with my menstrual cycle.

I was just texting a friend that I had this wave of sadness, discouragement and anxiety come over me, (the anxiety thing is new,) and even some jealousy.

What brought this on was Facebook. It seemed like EVERYBODY had their life going for them,  they were doing things that they loved and I am not.  Ever had those days?

After wallowing in my “despair” for a while, and coming to the realization that I have been sitting on my butt doing NOTHING all year! (No wonder I wasn’t living a great life.) I made the  decision that THIS IS IT! Enough is enough!  I’m drawing the line in the sand and I’m going to do something about it.  Make a choice and stick by it.

Below are my declaration, my goal for 2016 (I hate new years resolutions, they never work, but goals are different.)

1. Get my body moving 3x/wk.
It can be Zumba, yoga,  walking  or geocaching. (Don’t know what geocaching is check out an old post of mine here. )

2. Become healthier.
Incorporate more vegetables and add one fruit a day. 
Use a smaller plate and incorporate the 1/2 the plate veggies, 1/4 plate carbs, and 1/4 plate protein.
Have a fruit instead of a sugary dessert.
If I want to eat more than one snack size cracker package, to actually make something to eat, it’s most likely I’m hungry.
Drink 8 glasses of water.
Eat breakfast

3. Boost my immune system
People say raw honey helps.  I’ll try that.
Research foods that will help and incorporate that.  I think I’ll start with Julie Daniluk’s website (click here to check it out.) She is the author of Meals that Heal Inflammation.

4. Figure out what’s going on with my body. (FYI: This maybe Too much information)
My period had been off for 2-1/2 months, I’ve been having spotting for approximately 5 days In between my periods. So it seems like I’m having my period every 2 weeks  (Like once a month wasn’t bad enough.) I’ve seen the doctor,  I’m scheduled for tests and hopefully the worse news would be that it’s just perimenopause.

5. Have a viable business by September 2016
Schedule it in my calendar and work it into my life.
Relaunch and achieve the second management level in my networking business by September.
Write and publish one post a week and incorporate affiliate links on my blog.

6. Cultivate relationships
Spend time with friends. Meet up with a friend once a week.
Take holidays off to spend with family.

7. Live everyday like an Adventure.
I’m not sure what that looks like and I’m willing to discover what it looks like. I think I’ll start by looking at the world through the eyes of a 5 year old.
